NOFOMA 2006 in Norway is over!
The18th annual NOFOMA Conference was held in Nydalen in Oslo, at Norwegian School of Management BI, 8-9 June, 2006.
The Doctoral workshop, Nordlog, and Educators Day for higher education in logistics took place on June 7.

A little more than 100 participants were attending the conference.

Best paper competition
This year the Schenker Best Paper Award was granted to:
Karen Spens and Gyöngyi Kovács, HANKEN Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration, Finland, for the paper:
“Humanitarian logistics in disaster relief operations”.
Stig-Arne Mattsson, Lund University, Sweden, for the paper:
”Inventory Control in an environment with short lead times and small order quantities”
The best Doctoral Student paper was granted to:
Astrid Vigtil , Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, for the paper:
“Exchange of advance demand information in Vendor Managed Inventory”
Henrik Pålsson, Lund University, Sweden for the paper:
“Participant observation in logistics research - experiences from an RFID implementation study “
